💚💛 We are excited to share that Hobbs Middle School has once again earned a school grade of B!
This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and the incredible support of our families. Together, we saw increased proficiency in all four tested subject areas—ELA, Mathematics, Civics, and Science.
This success is especially meaningful because of the challenges we overcame along the way. Like many schools, we experienced staffing changes throughout the year, but our students, staff, and families remained committed to learning and continued moving forward together.
As a proud Title I school, we also know that many of our students overcome significant barriers outside the classroom every day. Through strong relationships, high expectations, and programs like AVID, we remain committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.
While we're proud to celebrate this achievement, we're even more excited about what's ahead. We know where we can continue to grow, and with another outstanding group of educators joining the Hobbs family this fall, we are committed to continuing our climb toward excellence.
Thank you to our students, families, teachers, staff, and community for believing in Hobbs Middle School and supporting our Jaguars every step of the way.
Nowhere but here, with nobody but you!💚💛

Hobbs Middle School will be closed the week of June 29 – July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
We hope all of our Jaguar families enjoy a safe, relaxing, and memorable Fourth of July filled with family, friends, and celebration. Thank you for being part of our Hobbs Middle community—we look forward to seeing everyone soon!
💚 Happy 4th of July! ❤️🤍💙

This summer, while many are enjoying a well-deserved break, a dedicated group of Hobbs Middle School educators is investing in their own learning by attending the AVID Summer Institute.
Through professional learning, collaboration, and reflection, these teachers are expanding their expertise and bringing back new strategies that will directly benefit our students and school community.
AVID has played a significant role in shaping the culture at Hobbs Middle School. It has helped us establish a unified vision centered on student achievement, college and career readiness, and high expectations for every learner. More importantly, AVID equips teachers with practical tools and strategies that empower students to overcome barriers, develop confidence, and take ownership of their learning.
We are proud of these educators for their commitment to continuous growth and their dedication to ensuring every Jaguar has the skills, support, and opportunities needed to succeed.
Thank you for representing Hobbs so well and for bringing back ideas that will help us continue our climb toward excellence! 💚🐆 #HobbsMiddleSchool #AVID #CollegeAndCareerReady #ContinuousImprovement

Hello Jaguar Families,
As we prepare to end your student's 6th grade school year and transition to their 7th grade school year, we would like to remind you that the State of Florida requires all incoming 7th-grade students to have the TDAP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) immunization before starting school.
Students without this immunization and required documentation will not receive a 7th-grade schedule and will not be allowed to start school in the fall of 2026.
Please note that Hobbs Middle School will not be holding a TDAP immunization clinic this year as we have done in the past. You will need to make your own arrangements for your child to receive their TDAP immunization. The local health department or your doctor’s office can administer the TDAP immunization. However, we recommend calling ahead to check if an appointment is required.
After your student has received their required immunizations, please submit the completed DH 680 form to the school as soon as possible. You may email it to durbink@santarosa.k12.fl.us . If you have already provided this documentation, please disregard this message.
For any questions, please contact Mrs. Kathi Durbin at (850) 983-5630 ext. 4029
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and have a good day.
Mrs. Jennifer Gardner
Assistant Principal
Hobbs Middle School
From the Hobbs Middle School faculty and staff, happy last day of school and thank you for a great year! 8th graders, good luck next year at the high school. 6th and 7th grade students who are coming back, we look forward to an amazing 2026-27 school year with you!

Please note, this announcement is only for students who received and returned an RSVP form for promotion. If you did not receive and return an RSVP form, you are not eligible to participate in the ceremony.

• First, students will be taking semester exams soon. Tuesday, May 26th, students will take their 1st and 2nd period exams. Wednesday, May 27th, students will take their 3rd and 4th period exams. Both days are early release at 11:10 AM. Finally, Thursday, May 28th, students will take their 5th and 6th period exams. Thursday is an early release day, with early release at 12:10 PM. This will also be the last day of school for students.
• Second, if you have any special needs regarding semester exams, please contact the school. Please contact our guidance counselors, Ms. Hansen or Ms. Hodge, to schedule make-up exams if you know your student will be absent.
• Third, any unused medication that is kept in our clinic needs to be picked up by a parent/guardian by close of business on May 28th. Any medication left after May 28th will be disposed of by our health technician. Also, as a reminder, the Dispersion of Medication Forms expire each school year and must be renewed next year. This is the case for all medications to be administered on campus, including if your student will need to carry an Epipen or asthma inhaler.
• Finally, overdue library books are due to the media center. Please return any as soon as possible. Students will soon begin receiving bills to replace books that have not been returned.

This is Brandon Koger, principal of Hobbs Middle School, with an important message for parents and families. We are conducting a lockdown drill at school today as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law. We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety. Again, all students are safe, and this is simply a required lockdown drill. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Jaguar students, teachers, and families, our preliminary FAST and EOC scores are in! We are incredibly proud to celebrate the hard work and achievement of our Jaguar students and staff! 📚🐆
This year, Hobbs Middle School demonstrated:
✅ Growth in proficiency in ELA, Civics, and Science
✅ Strong proficiency scores maintained in Math
✅ A 100% pass rate on BOTH the Algebra and Geometry EOCs! 🎉
These accomplishments are the result of dedication, perseverance, high expectations, and a school community committed to student success every single day.
A special THANK YOU to our students for your commitment, perseverance, and willingness to keep pushing forward, even when the work was challenging. Your growth and success are something to be proud of, and you continue to show what Jaguars are capable of accomplishing! 💚🐆💛
Thank you as well to our teachers, support staff, families, and community partners for supporting our students and helping make these accomplishments possible.

This is a reminder that RSVP forms for our 8th grade promotion ceremony are due TODAY, Monday, May 11th. Because the ceremony is very difficult to plan, no RSVPs will be accepted after today. No exceptions.
If you still need to turn in your RSVP form, our front office is open until 3:30 PM today for drop off.
Please remember, the promotion ceremony is by invitation only. Students who received an invitation are currently eligible for promotion and will participate in the ceremony. Students who did not receive an invitation were instead provided information regarding summer school opportunities.
If you are unsure which form your student should have received, please contact our guidance department as soon as possible.
Thank you! 💚

Our net SAC meeting will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 3:00 PM. The agenda and all supporting documents will be posted on our school website at the following link:
