About

Welcome to Hobbs Middle School!

Founded in 1968 and named for longtime educator and leader Raymond B. Hobbs, our school has proudly served the Milton community for over 50 years. As the first middle school in Santa Rosa County, Hobbs carries a rich tradition of excellence, growth, and service.

At Hobbs, every student receives a strong academic foundation in language arts, math, science, and social studies—plus a wide variety of electives like art, band, PE, digital literacy, reading, and critical thinking. We also offer specialized support for exceptional education students, advanced coursework for high achievers, and interventions for those who need extra help. Additionally, programs like AVID enrich learning and spark curiosity.

Just as importantly, we care deeply about the whole child—not just academic success, but emotional well-being and personal growth. Our dedicated guidance counselors, Military Family Life Counselor (MFLAC), and CDAC mental health support work closely with students to help them navigate challenges and build resilience. Beyond the classroom, we offer a variety of clubs and activities—like Student Government, Anchored4Life, SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco), Theater Club, and Run Club—that give students a chance to lead, connect, and grow in a supportive and welcoming environment.

While Santa Rosa County continues to grow and change, Hobbs remains a steady presence. Our building may be older, and our students may face unique challenges, but we meet them with heart, grit, and high expectations.

Hobbs is a special place—one filled with pride, purpose, and people who truly care. Around here, we like to say it’s a “nowhere but here” kind of school. And we mean it!
